Competition Format |
|
The Central American and Caribbean Games, Veracruz 2014 are a regional sports event. There are competitions in 36 sports, 12 of these lead to qualification for the Pan American Games, Toronto 2015.
COMPETITION FORMAT
Competition IClassification for Competition II and III, and Team Qualification
- Teams are made up of 5 gymnasts, maximum. A maximum of 4 athletes may compete in each apparatus; the best 3 scores on each apparatus will be considered.
- Up to two gymnasts per NOC may qualify for Competition II as long as they have competed on all 4 (WAG) or all 6 (MAG) apparatuses. In the event of a tied score, the
tie-breaker system established by FIG will be put into action. If the tie remains, all the involved gymnasts will be scored.
- Up to two gymnasts per NOC can qualify for Competition III. In the event of a tied score, the tie-breaker system established by FIG will be put into action. If the tie remains,
all the involved gymnasts will be scored.
- In the event of a tie in the final Team results, there will be no tie-breaker.
- The competition will be performed in 2 subdivisions, placing competition groups in each of the 4 (WAG) or 6 (MAG) apparatuses as per the draw that will take place at
the Technical Meeting.
Competition IIGeneral Individual Classification
- The 24 best gymnasts classified in Competition I, maximum 2 per NOC will compete. The final results will be calculated by adding up their scores in all 4 (WAG) or 6 (MAG) apparatuses.
- In the event of a tie in the final results, there will be no tiebreaker.
- Competition order will be defined though a draw that will take place during the Technical Meeting.
Competition IIIFinals per apparatus
- The 8 top ranked gymnasts classified from Competition I will compete, with a maximum of 2 gymnasts per NOC.
- In the event of a tie in the final results, there will no tiebreaker.
- Competition order will be defined through a draw that will take place during the Technical Meeting.
